Inspired by my Mayan roots: An homage to the resilience of a dispossessed community. I draw from the vibrant colors, intricate textures, and symbolic patterns of Guatemala's artisanal textiles, infusing them with manipulated embroidered silk to form striking, sustainable, and deconstructed silhouettes. Each piece a bold ode to the fierce beauty and unwavering spirit of Mayan women throughout exfiltration, guerrilla resistance and the aftermath of a 30 year genocide.
